Application Data Model

Record Display

The ‘View Data’ window lists records for the selected file. Double click on a single record invokes a

window displaying full record display.

Select the record ‘Bertwhistle & Company Ltd’ and perform double click on it. This invokes a window

displaying record display along with the records for its dependents.

Record Display with Dependents

Note the tabs below the record display – Contacts and Purchases. These are the dependent tabs

showing the dependent data. The ACCESSES/OWNS relationships for the file ‘CUSF’ in the Data

Model Diagram is seen in action here. ‘CUSF-Sites’ owns ‘CNTACS-Contacts’ and ‘CUSTS-

Purchases’ and hence the two appear as dependents.

The ACCESSED BY relations is depicted by the ‘Descriptors’ button on the record display. This can

be understood as JOIN to a foreign file to get the description for the code used from the

Master/Owning file.
